This is the beginning of the Law that is recorded in the Old Testament. Understanding this will actually help us to understand Jesus and how He fulfills the Law.
- From May 2: Holy cow, those seem like extreme measures. Why do you think God was so extreme in what He said about this subject?
- From May 3: Why did God command people to pay back more than they took?
- From May 3: Read Matthew 5:23-24 (yes, actually look it up and read it). Why would Jesus command that? Why would you suspend your worship to God in that way?
1. I think that God was so extreme in the way He presented this subject because it is something He feels is important. We should be showing others God's love and these verses say that we should especially be loving widows and orphans.
ReplyDelete2. I think God commanded people to pay back more than they took because He wanted to teach them a lesson. He wanted to show that you shouldn't commit the sin of stealing.
3. I think you would suspend your worship to God in that way because there is no reason to be worshiping God if you haven't forgiven someone who did something against you. I don't think you are able to give everything you have to God in worship if you are holding on to a burden.
1. This is an important matter because when people see that you love and care about them they want to know why, that that is an amazing way to get them to know God.
ReplyDelete2. I think it was because He wanted to make sure that it was crystal clear that you should not steal. Also, it isbetter to give than receive.
3. It is not right to sacrifice for your sin and ask for forgiveness when you yourself is not willing to forgive.
1. It is so extreme because as you love and care about people they can then turn to christ and tell their friends.
ReplyDelete2. Stealing is obviously a 10 commandment which is a big deal and Jesus states that it is better to give than receive.
3. If you don't forgive then it is just hypocritical to ask God for forgiveness.
1. I feel he was so extreme because he wanted to get the point across that we shouldn't mistreat others because of something that happened with no fault of their own.
ReplyDelete2. I think he wanted them to pay back more then they took because it was a way to punish them for their sin.
3. I think Jesus commanded that because if you aren't going help solve your earthly differences then why should you and God solve your problems. You would suspend your worship to God that way in order to show you give effort and try.
1. Do you can share his love and then that person can pass it on and you could change someone's day our even their life.
ReplyDelete2. He said that because it is better to give than to recieve.
3. God wants all your past tensions to be resolved before you make offerings to him and you should try to solve the.problems on earth.
1.Its extreme because its important to show our love for others. When we show love for others we are also showing Gods love to others.
ReplyDelete2.He says to do this because if you steal you need to repay what you stole and interest. It is also better to give than to receive.
3.If you cant forgive others then you shouldnt be asking god for forgiveness. By showing Gods love you have to forgive others.
